Enabled Intelligence announced availability of a pre-labeled dataset comprising 500,000+ hours of full-motion video from Ukrainian conflict drones, covering aerial object detection, vehicle classification, and ground activity across multiple sensor modalities. The company positions it as the first commercial offering of real combat footage at this scale.
The dataset's operational authenticity is its primary value. Unlike synthetic or peacetime training data, it captures unpredictable weather, varied terrain, and genuine battlefield dynamics — conditions that autonomous systems will encounter in deployment. CEO Peter Kant emphasized that the footage is "real, not simulated" and validated for immediate use in model training.
Primary applications span defense ISR, autonomous targeting, and logistics in contested environments. On the commercial side, the data supports drone delivery and remote sensing use cases. Enabled Intelligence holds a $708M NGA contract for data labeling services tied to the Maven program, indicating this dataset feeds directly into US intelligence computer vision pipelines.
The Ukraine conflict has generated more drone footage than any prior war, but raw video requires extensive labeling and validation before it becomes useful training data. Enabled Intelligence's curation work reduces time-to-deployment for developers building aerial AI systems. The dataset is available now to approved users in the US, Ukraine, and NATO member states.
The release raises data provenance and consent questions. Kant did not disclose footage sources or whether Ukrainian forces, international partners, or third-party collectors provided the material. For NATO and US developers, this represents a significant advantage over adversaries relying on synthetic or limited real-world data — but also concentrates operational intelligence in a commercial dataset accessible to multiple parties.
